
VALERIE SNEADE is the recipient of the 2002 Independent Reviewers of New England Award (IRNE) for best cabaret show for her performance in “Will & Company.” She was also nominated for a 2004 IRNE for her performance of “The Streisand Songbook.” “The Streisand Songbook” was also voted one of Boston’s 10 best shows by Boston cabaret critic John Amodeo. She also received the 2004 Donnie for best actress in Charlotte County FL for he rperformance in “Jerry's Girls.” Most recently, she was voted one of the ten best acts in Boston by Edge Magazine (Boston,MA)!
Critics have raved about her “powerhouse pipes and beaming stage personality.” Another critic wrote “the piece de resistance was Valerie Sneade…a dynamo.” Some of her one-woman shows include “The Streisand Songbook”, “Hear Me Roar: A Tribute to the '60s & '70s”,“A Tribute To The Silver Screen”, “The Valerie Sneade Show”, “An Old Fashioned Christmas”, and “Always a Bridesmaid, Never A Bride.”
Valerie is also a professional actress. She has an extensive list of regional and Off-Broadway, and cabaret credits. She has appeared at a multitude of venues including The Grand Ole Opry (TN), The Papermill Playhouse (NJ), The York Theatre (NYC), The Evergreen Dinner Theatre (NJ), The Lyric Stage of Boston (MA), The Palace Theatre (NH), Don’t Tell Mama’s (NYC), The Triad (NYC), The Inn On Newfound Lake (NH), The Cultural Center of Port Charlotte (FL), The North Port Performing Arts Center (FL), The Charlotte Performing Arts Center (FL), The Worcester Foothills (MA), and many more!
In addition, Valerie is a soloist with POPS orchestras. In October 2003, Valerie was a guest artist with The Charlotte Symphony (a professional symphony based out of Southwest Florida). At this concert, she shared the stage with Al Holland (formerly of The Platters) and performed for a record audience of nearly 4,000 for their annual Charlotte POPS at Sunset Concert ( Punta Gorda, FL). Since then Valerie has become a regular guest artist with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Most recently, she headlined a patriotic concert in June of 2005 called "Symphonic Fireworks" and was their headliner for their October 2005 performance of "A Tribute To Hollywood." In February 2006 and March of 2007, Valerie performed with The Thayer Symphony in Lemonister, MA. She will be performing in March of 09 with The Charlotte Symphony under the baton of Maestro Francis Wada.
Valerie released her debut CD “Let Me Be Strong” in October of 2004. With the musical expertise of her producer and husband Edward C. Loder, Valerie has put together a terrific CD that has a little something for everyone. Music director and arranger on the project is Jim Rice of Boston, MA, who also doubled (tripled) as her pianist and organist. Sneade is backed by some of Boston’s finest musicians - Steve Skop on bass, Steve Marchena on guitar, Mick Lewander on drums, Adam McOwen on fiddle, and Johann Soults on cello. The CD, which features the music of Ernie Lijoi, Barbara Baig, Carole King, Burt Bacharach, and many more is now available on her website.
